Moving files

Step-by-step guide to automatically move files

Select the desired files

First, add the files to be moved to the list. You can either use the selection dialog, or add the files using drag and drop onto the program interface. By using the filter you can narrow down the files to be moved according to their properties. For example, when moving images you can determine that the files to be moved needs to contain image data, have a minimum resolution of 800x600 pixels and were created in the current year.

Add action Move Files

Click on the button featuring the plus (+) symbol to add the action Move Files to the action list. This action can be found in the submenu "Other".

In the example shown, the files are to be moved into the new destination directory 'D:\Multimedia'. In addition, multiple subfolders are to be created, which are to be named automatically by the dimensions of the images. From the menu shown, the image height and width were selected. As separator, the 'x' character is used.

Check the new paths

The preview list displays a preview of the new location of these files in real time. Based on the colors of the list items, it can be seen exactly which files are moved and which remain unchanged. If the path is shown in blue color, this means that it is different from the current.
